You want to go for a ride in a tropical forest for a couple of hours?
Do you want to admire exotic plants and carnivorous plants?
That’s where I suggest you go: to the butterfly house in Cervia/Milano Marittima.
If you want to surprise your children and give them a beautiful afternoon, I recommend the butterfly house.
When I go with my grandfather myself (I think he’s the number one insect enthusiast) I’m always fascinated by this natural spectacle.
As soon as you enter the evening – of 500 square meters – you will feel like you have plunged into a real rainforest.
The temperature (between 28 and 30 degrees), humidity (70%) and exotic plants will make you forget you are in Cervia.
Inside the greenhouse live and reproduce thousands of butterflies from tropical regions of Africa, Asia, America and Australia. I suggest you to walk all the paths among the ficus, banana and other tropical plants and stop to see the enchanting colors of their wings. If you’re lucky, some butterflies will also rest on your shoulder.
Once out of the greenhouse, there is also “The House of Insects”, a pavilion entirely dedicated to the world of insects: bees, locusts, beetles and other extravagant insects from around the world.
If you want to enjoy some relaxation, also take a walk in the garden.
It includes a botanical nature trail and a new “Il Bruco” greenhouse, which houses several species of Italian butterflies.
Here is a video we made when we last went:
